Driving requirements
Before you learn to drive on public roads you must be 17 years old and hold a valid provisional or full UK driving licence. Visitors to the UK are advised to apply for a provisional UK driving licence before booking driving lessons.
You must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20.5 meters (approximately 67 feet).
You will not be able to book your practical test until you have passed your theory test.
You do not have to have passed your theory test before starting driving lessons but we advise that you do so as soon as possible, particularly if you are looking to do an intensive course.
Test requirements
Before booking your test, your Instructor will advise you on your readiness to take a test. How we do this is to offer a Mock test scenario, in which your Instructor will be able to view your progress in a controlled, safe way. The expectations we set for your Mock test is to pass with no more than 6 driving faults before then taking your actual driving test. This can be repeated as many times as needed until this result is achieved. We believe this is a great way to prepare for your test and hopefully can reduce the cost and stress of getting that First time pass! |
